Hello:
I am a responsible, single male, aged 59, with multiple physical disabilities but very independent-minded, and in need of a place to live. My current situation (4-bedroom home in the country) is ending on 31 July because my landlady is selling the property.
I am a reclusive person, a scholar with a library, and a career artist-photographer specializing in antique processes. Although I will make every effort to downsize, I still need space for my work and am therefore seeking a 3-4 bedroom house, preferably with handicap access (I use a wheelchair much of the time, especially at home), wide doorways (36") and an accessible bathroom. If a place with two stories, but accessible to the first floor with bedroom and full bath on the first floor, were available, I would seriously consider this. I have lived in the country (Danby) since arriving in Ithaca fifteen years ago, and before that, owned an old farmhouse with studio and 20 acres in nearby Yates County for fifteen years. That said, I would also consider housing in the Fall Creek area of Ithaca.
